Driven by an array of jazz organ trios, The Unlikely Descent draw inspiration from the likes of Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Wes Montgomery Organ Trio along side the more contemporary sounds of Soulive, MMW and Dr Lonnie Smith Trio.

Darren and Sam worked together extensively on the Essex jazz circuit from 2019 with Rule of Four (now Rule of Five). When Sam relocated to London in 2022 they teamed up with high-in-demand jazz organist Pete Whittaker. As a newly formed trio, The Unlikely Descent are thrilled to be releasing their debut album with performance dates to follow.
